Photo Manipulation and Ethics
This article was about pictures that were being manipulated and that is an offense to the photojournalism association. Just because photos aren't that great at first, does not mean you can change the whole thing, i mean you can edit a little but don't change that much the original picture. To most people it can be offensive to get edited out of the picture, but its better not to exaggerate the "editing" of the photo.
The type of editing in the pictures are unethical, because its not good or acceptable to edit out of the important details of the pictures.
this picture is unethical because, in the original it shows the mother of the child, and this picture the mother is edited out.
The type of editing in the pictures are unethical, because its not good or acceptable to edit out of the important details of the pictures.
this picture is not that unethical to me because, it actually made the picture look better. I mean i know if that was a picture of me i would want to look good specially for a magazine. So some "edits" aren't that bad.
National geographic warm-up
This is my favorite photo because, the water looks so beautiful, and clear. I always wanted to surf in hawaii, and just looking at this picture inspires me that one day i will do this. This picture really is the BEST picture I've seen so far by a professional photographer.
Think about your world, what photo would you take to submit to this photo contest?
A picture that i would take for this contest is a photo with the greatest soccer players, playing their heart out in the field.

Touching people
1. What do you think about this project and photo essay? This project is probably the most creative I've ever heard of, because it really stands out for the photographer.
2. What would you do if someone approached you with a camera and asked you to participate in a photo shoot and then asked you to touch a stranger? What i would do is to actually participate because i like doing the most random things, specially if it involves pictures, but it would be awkward for the stranger that I'm gonna touch!
3. Think of an unusual photo shoot similar to this one that you think would be fun to go and shoot.
i think an unusual photo would be people being random with one another, and i would be exited to take that photo.
4. Finally, tell me what you thought of the photography, are the photos good? do you like looking at them? the photos are very creative, and shows 2 different people just next to each other, and probably wouldn't do that in actual life.

Great black and white photographers PART 2
Walker Evans (november 3, 1903 - April 10, 1975) was a photographer. Walker came from an affluent family, his father was an advertiser and in his youth he was in Toledo, Chicago and New York City. He graduated from Philips Academy, in Adover, Massachusetts in 1922. He was known for the Farm Security Administration and the documentary of the effects of the great depression. His goal as a photographer was to make pictures that are "literate, authoritative, transcendent". Walker Evans died at his home in Old Lyme, Connecticut, in April 10, 1975 at age 71. In 1994, Walker Evans handed over his holdings to the New York City's The Metropolitan Museum of Art.

Photographs- is an image created by light falling on a light sensitive surface.
Aperture- it is a hole or an opening through which light travels.
shutter- is a common term used to discuss exposure time.
exposure- is controlled by shutter speed.
depth of field- its the distance between the nearest and fastest objects in a scene that appear acceptably sharp in an image.
F- stop- its the value that indicates the size of the lens aperture used during the taking of a photograph.

Camera history and parts
1. Explain the "camera obscura" effect. How is it achieved? The effect of the "camera obscura" was like a dark room, it was the first camera. The hole acted like a lens, focusing and projecting light onto the wall of the dark chamber.
2. The invention during the 17th century helped man get a step closer to creating the modern camera?
the modern camera came one set closer when Isaac Newton and Christian huygens perfected the understanding of optics and the process of making high quality glass lenses.
3. What were the parts of the first modern camera invented by Niepce?
The parts of the modern camera were that he added a "film", to create the first successful photograph.
4. What do modern digital cameras have in common with Neipce's camera?
modern cameras and digital cameras work the same way, because a camera is still a camera.
5. What do digital cameras use to capture an image?
Digital cameras capture images with an electronic sensor called a CCD.
6. What is the difference between the auto mode and the program mode?
Auto camera mode can control flash and exposure. And program mode its just for point and shoot.
7. What is the portrait mode used for? how does it work? To attempt to blur out the background, and u need the fastest working lens setting.
8. What is the sports mode used for? how does it work? You use the sports mode to freeze motion, camera will use the highest shutter speed possible. to use it you got to put the shutter mode on first then the sports mode.
9. Why should you do half press on the trigger button? Faster camera response time, more control over focus, and encourages better composition.
10. When would you use this? To not use the flash.

15. How many stops brighter is the new planet if there are two sons instead of one? 1 stop brighter.
16. How many stops brighter is the new planet if there are four sons instead of two? 2 stops brighter.
17. What effect does a longer shutter speed of have? more light.
18. What effect does a shorter shutter speed have? less light.
19. What does the aperture control? It control the light tat reaches the film.
20. When adjusting the aperture, how can you increase the amount of light? By making larger openings.

1st photos!
This is my least favorite because the picture to me came out blurry. also because she wasn't facing the camera, but she was smiling. I've never taken a photo journalism class so i didn't really knew how to use a Canon camera, also because I'm a freshman, and bearly learning how to use a professional camera.
